It is to be believed that the future of Bartomeu has perhaps been determined since he was heavily criticised by Gerard Pique and then Lionel Messi. However, the Argentine star also was furious over the president's activities and wanted to exit from the Catalan club if Bartomeu will stay on his presidency post here.
In August, while Barcelona received a record defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals by 2-8, since then Bartomeu had been criticized widely along with the previous club’s worsening finances and the team’s decline on the pitch issues.
Bartomeu tended his resignation after a board meeting confirmed the vote of no confidence would go ahead no matter what.
Bartomeu’s departure comes after over 20,000 supporters signed a petition calling for the president to go after becoming increasingly angry at the way the club is being run.
