Banks open today for limited hours

After the Eid-ul-Azha holiday, the banking activities will be resumed today and will continue from 10 am to 1.30 pm on Sunday. Post-transactional ancillary activities must be completed by 3 pm.
All the branches of the banks are open during normal hours with banking services available from 10 am to 4 pm. On July 13, the Department of Off-Site Supervision of Bangladesh Bank issued an instruction to start banking activities within the government-imposed restrictions to tackle the Covid-19 outbreak.
It said the bank would remain open for a limited period from July 25 to August 5, 2021 (excluding weekly holidays) during the restrictions, considering the Covid-19 pandemic situation. During this, transactions will be done in the bank from 10 am to 1.30 pm. The bank will be opened till 3 pm to complete post-transaction ancillary activities.
The directive further said to strictly abide by the hygiene rules including wearing of masks, the bank will be able to keep the required number of branches open at its own discretion, including the essential departments of the bank's head office, through a limited amount of manpower.
Meanwhile, government-announced strict restrictions to prevent the spread of coronavirus have started from 6 am on Friday and will continue till 12 am on August 5. During this, banking activities will be continued on a limited scale.
