Bank transaction time has been extended by 30 minutes for two days before the start of a strict lockdown for a week from April 14 lockdown. Following the decision bank transaction can be done for three hours instate of two and half hours on Monday and Tuesday.
Bangladesh Bank made the announcement in a notification on Sunday.
According to the notification, bank transactions can be done from 10 am to 1 pm on April 12 and April.
Bank branches and the concerned departments at their head offices will remain open till 3 pm for post-transaction activities.
Earlier, in the wake of the Corona epidemic, Strict restrictions on movement and work were declared all over the country from 5 April to April 11. During this time, the banks was open till 2 pm for post office activities.
However, the new circular states that the other instructions in the circular issued by the central bank on keeping the bank open on April 4 will remain unchanged.
