Bangladesh has completed its World Cup qualifying mission after losing the second leg against Oman. The Middle Eastern country won the match 3-0 on Tuesday night at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, storming the defense of Bangladesh.

Earlier, Oman won the first leg 4-1. As a result, it was expected that Bangladesh would lose the match. Even though everyone was curious to see how Bangladesh could hold Oman.

Bangladesh football team played the match without their five regular XI players including Jamal Bhuyan due to injuries and card problems. For this, a youthful team played against Oman. The Bangladeshi footballers spent the full match on the field blocking Oman’s attack.

Oman led 1-0 in the first half and 3-0 in the second half. Oman took the lead in the 22nd minute with Al Ghafri’s goal. Oman’s Al-Hajri scored two goals in the second half.

It was not surprising that Oman’s winning margin doubled. Raed Ibrahim Saleh has saved the goal line twice, the ball has returned four times from the post and crossbar.

Bangladesh was able to create an opportunity to score “only once” in the whole match. The Oman goalkeeper saved the team from danger with a great shot from the corner by Yeasin Arafat.

Bangladesh finished the group stage of the World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers with 2 points in 2 draw in 8 matches. Bangladesh ranks fifth among the 5 countries. Oman is in 2nd position with 16 points. Qatar is the group champion with 22 points. India is third with 7 points, Afghanistan is fourth with 6 points.
