Bangladeshis stranded abroad to be brought back: A. Momen

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said today the government will bring back the Bangladeshi citizens who got stuck in various countries including India due to lockdown amid coronavirus outbreak though who stuck in India are not being brought back right now. 

He made that statement after an emergency inter-ministerial meeting on the return of expatriates who got stuck in the Foreign Ministry on Thursday morning. 

The foreign minister said that Bangladeshis stuck in India are not being brought back right now as the lockdown will continue until 14 April in the country that caused problems to bring back our people. 

"The expatriates are the wealth of our country. The government will try to alleviate the plight of the expatriates. The Governments of various countries around the world are helping our expatriates, supporting our missions. We will write a letter of thanks to them” minister said. 

Expatriates' Welfare Minister Imran Ahmad, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman and other officials were present at the meeting.
