Bangladeshi Omar Ishrak named Intel Chairman

Bangladeshi born Omar Ishrak has been made the chairman of the world’s largest processor manufacturer Intel Corporation board of directors.
The company announced Omar Ishrak as the new chairman of the board of directors on January 21.
Omar Ishrak was the director of Intel Corporation. Andy Bryant has served as the board’s chairman since 2012. He is leaving after seven years due to a growing supply chain crisis.
64-year-old Omar Ishrak has been performing his duty as the chief executive officer of Medtronic, the world’s leading medical technology company. But after hiring him at Intel, he will quit.
Omar Ishrak grew up in Bangladesh. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of London, King’s College. He is also a member of the Asia Society’s Board of Trustees.
