Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF in Chuadanga

Omedul Islam was a cattle trader.
A Bangladeshi national was shot to death allegedly by India's Border Security Force (BSF) at the Thakurpur border in Damurhuda, Chuadanga early on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Omedul Islam, son of Shahidul Islam of Thakurpur village. He was a cattle trader.
The BGB is preparing to send a letter to protest the incident and to bring back the body.
According to the Omedul's family and locals, 4-5 Bangladeshi cattle traders including Omedul went to the border on Sunday morning to bring the cows. As they approached Zero Point on the border at around 4:00 am, BSF patrol team chased and shot them. Omedul was shot dead by BSF while others managed to flee. The BSF later dumped his body near Pillar no 69 inside India.
Chuadanga-6 BGB director Mohammad Khalequzzaman said preparations are underway to send a letter to the BSF protesting the incident and demanding the return of the body.
