Bangladesh to send astronaut to space by 2022

After sending the Bangabandhu satellite to space, Bangladesh will send an astronaut in 2022.
Bangladesh Astronomical Association chairman Mashhurul Amin said this at a press conference organized at Gulshan Club on Friday.
He said that for the fourth time on the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Spacefest 2020 in organized.
Following the South Korean space program as part of this Spacefest activity, an astronaut will be sent to space in 2022 after verification.
He added that applications from students of science and technology who are between 22 and 35 years old and interested in space will be collected first. After that, 50 people will be selected. 10 people will be selected through verification scrutiny. One of them will be sent to Russia for a 15-month training. After the training, he will be sent to the International Space Station for a 10-day visit.
