Bangladesh to get Covid vaccine by Jan 25: DGHS

Bangladesh will get the first shipment of Oxford and AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine - produced at the Serum Institute of India between January 21-25, according to the Department of Health.

Director General of  Directorate General of Health Services Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam came up with this information this afternoon. 

He said 5 million doses of vaccine would be brought to the country in the first shipment. After being kept in the warehouse for two days, it will be sent to every district. 

Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited signed an agreement with the Serum Institute of India on November 5 to buy 30 million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine. According to the agreement, Seram Institute will send 5 million doses of vaccine every month to Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited. They will supply the vaccine in Bangladesh.
