Coronavirus vaccination activities are going to be started in the villages beyond the boundaries of the hospitals of the divisional and district cities of the country including the capital. The vaccination campaign will start in the villages of the country from August 7.

The government has planned to vaccinate 60 lakh people in six days. For this, the people who want to get vaccinated must bring the National Identity Card (NID) to the center.

Earlier, in a virtual exchange of views on Saturday afternoon, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said that measures would be taken to inoculate against coronavirus without online registration, giving priority to the elderly in the village.

He added that the vaccine will be given through a national identity card. If necessary, after vaccination, those names will be registered online.

The health minister said the government is going to start importing 200 tonnes of liquid oxygen per week from India from next week to combat corona. Besides, 43 oxygen generators are also being purchased. The government is set to store 1 crore 20 lakh vaccines next month.

"We have calculated that we will get 21 crore doses and we are planning according to that," he added.
