Bangladesh is trying to buy another 40 million doses of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine. For this, communications have already done with the Serum Institute of India.
International news agency Reuters, citing Health Secretary Abdul Mannan, reported this on Thursday.
Health Secretary Abdul Mannan told Reuters that Bangladesh was also expected to receive 68 million vaccines from COVAX. As per that it is expected to get 10 million doses by June.
However, the Seram Institute “did not comment” on Bangladesh’s attempt to buy a new vaccine, according to a Reuters report.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said on Wednesday that 40 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine would be available by next July. Negotiations are underway to bring in vaccines from other countries.
