Bangladesh sees lowest deaths in 24hrs in 9 months

Five more people have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the country - which is the lowest death in a single day after 9 months. With this, the death toll from the pandemic rose to 8,253. 9 people died yesterday.

Meanwhile, the tally of infections has surged to 5,39,975 as 404 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, 418 Covid-19 cases were reported. 

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release on Friday (12 February 2021). 

The recovery count rose to 4,86,393 after another 422 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.

A total of 14,238 samples were tested at 206 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.

The first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
