Bangladesh sees lowest Covid-19 deaths in 7 months

Bangladesh reported lowest deaths from Covid-19 in seven months as only 7 people died of the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the tally from the pandemic to 27,654.

On the other hand, the total caseload stood at 15,61,463 as 645 more tested positive for the virus during the same time.

It was said in a press release signed by professor Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (Administration), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.

Among the 7 deceased, 3 are men and 4 are women. The current positivity rate is 2.77 percent while the total positivity rate is 15.75 percent.

A total of  23,302 samples were tested at 815 centers across the country in last 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 814 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,22,591.

The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning, 97.51 percent recovered, while 1.77 percent died.

The highest single-day deaths 264 from Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (August 10).

Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
