Bangladesh restrict Scotland to 140

Bangladesh have restricted Scotland for 140/9 in 20 overs in their first-round Group B match at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Muscat today.

Bangladesh have won the toss and asked Scotland to bat first at the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Muscat. Saifuddin gave good start to Bangladesh taking the wicket of Scotland skipper for naught.

After losing their skipper early, Scotland finish the Powerplay strongly with Munsey and Cross scoring 23 runs in the last two overs of fielding restrictions. Mohammad Saifuddin brought the first breakthrough for Bangladesh taking the wicket of Kyle Coetzer (0). Scotland lost their first wicket on 5 in 2.4 over. At the end of the Powerplay, they were 39/1.

Mahedi Hasan struck twice in his very first over and innings' 8th over to send back Matthew Cross (11) and George Munsey (29). Leaving Scotland 3 down for 46 after 8 over.

Left-hand spinner Shakib Al Hasan struck twice in his third over and innings' 11th over to increase the woe for Scotland as they lost fifth wicket to 52. He dismissed Richard Berrington (2) and Michael Leask (0). With the wicket of Lesak Shakib became the highest wicket-taker in T20Is.

Then off-spinner Mahedi Hasan struck again to grab his third wicket. He bowled Calum MacLeod for 5 leaving Scotland 53/6.

From here, MRJ Watt and Chris Greaves put 51 runs off 34 for the seventh wickets stand. Before being dismissed to Taskin Ahmed Watt made 17-ball 22. 

JH Davey and Chris Greaves put quick 27 off 12 for the eight-wicket stand. Mustafizur Rahman broke the stand taking the wicket of Chris Greaves (45 off 28). He also took the wicket of Josh Davey (0) in the 3rd ball of the last over.

For Bangladesh, Mahedi took 3 for 19 in his four overs. Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman bagged 2 wickets each while Saifuddin and Taskin Ahmed shared two wickets between them.
