Bangladesh reports 32 deaths, over 1500 cases in a day

32 more COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 4913 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 3,47,372 as 1567 new cases were confirmed during the period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) provided the information issuing a press release on Saturday.
According to the release, a total of 13,170 samples were tested at 93 authorized laboratories across the country during the time. Besides, the recovery count rose to 254,386 after another 2051 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Saturday afternoon, a total of 30,721,066 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 956,915 while 22,355,501 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
