Bangladesh registers lowest Covid-19 cases since May, 30 deaths

Bangladesh has reported less Covid-19 infection since May 9 this year as 834 people have infected by the disease in the last 24 hours, increasing the tally of infection to 5,08,099. 1163 Covid-19 cases reported yesterday,
The number of deaths by Covid-19, on the other hand, has increased to 30 during the period, increasing the death toll to 7428. As many as 20 people have died from the virus yesterday.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release issued on Saturday (December 26, 2020).
A total of 9912 samples were tested at 163 authorized laboratories across the country during the time. Meanwhile, the recovery count rose to 4,50,488 after another 1,685 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period, the release added.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, 472,443 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus around the world while 8,374 died from the pandemic in the last 24 hours. The United States has registered the highest number of deaths from the pandemic and infections during the period.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of this afternoon, a total of 80,274,572 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,758,984 while 56,540,560 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
