Bangladesh registers 35 deaths, 2293 cases in 24hrs

Bangladesh registered 35 more deaths from coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and 1,888 fresh cases overnight.
As many as 35 more COVID-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 6,807, a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Saturday.
Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 475,879 as 1,888 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours. A total of 13,540 samples were tested at 117 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.
Meanwhile, the recovery count rose to 393,408 after another 2,457 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
The first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
The coronavirus that first reported in China late last year is now affecting 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of this afternoon (05-12-2020), a total of 66,310,189 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,526,234 while 45,894,158 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
