Bangladesh is set to play in a tri-nation football tournament in Kyrgyzstan ahead of the SAF Championship in October. The first match of the men in red-green in the competition is against Palestine. Though the opposition is strong, Bangladesh is ready to fight, said, captain Jamal Bhuiyan.

Jamal said that the team has improved a lot in the five days of practice ahead of the tournament. Bangladesh will face Palestine at 8:30 pm Bangladesh time on Sunday at the Spartak Stadium in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Palestine lost the first match 1-0 to the host Kyrgyzstan. Bangladesh have played twice over Palestine. On both occasions, they lost to war-torn Palestine.

In 2018, Bangladesh lost the semi-final match against Palestine 2-0 at Cox's Bazar District Stadium. Two years later, Jamie Day's team lost by the same margin in the group stage match.

In a video message sent by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), captain Jamal spoke about various aspects of the match. "The matches we will play against Palestine and Kyrgyzstan to hone ourselves ahead of SAF Football Championship," he said.

"Tomorrow is our first match against Palestine. In the meantime, we have seen their match against Kyrgyzstan. We have learned about their strengths and weaknesses. We talked to the coach about all this," he added.

Jamal Bhuiyan added, there is not much time on hand for SAF Championship. So this time is very valuable. We have to work with tactics, we have to see where we need to improve."

The Bangladesh captain further said, "Everyone is fit and ready. The last few days of preparation were good. We are ready to fight against Palestine. We have decided how to play our own game. We will try to play with new tactics. If it is good, we will continue."
