Bangladesh has been ranked 113th among 158 countries in the Commitment to Reducing Inequality Index (CRI) 2020. This position was 148th in 2018.

Oxfam and Development Finance International (DFI) jointly released the third edition of the global report ‘The Commitment to Reducing Inequality (CRI) Index 2020’ on Thursday.

According to the report, Bangladesh did better than India, Pakistan, and Bhutan in the ranking.

The new analysis has revealed that Bangladesh has achieved remarkable economic growth in the last decade.

Norway tops the list, followed by Denmark and Germany. However, United States flails at 26, and South Sudan ranks last in the index.

In South Asia, Maldives ranks 72, Sri Lanka 94, Afghanistan 102, Nepal 112, Pakistan 128, India 129, and Bhutan 146.
