Bangladesh is now playing a leading role in exporting medicines to the world market, which was once a dream for us, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said.

He came up with the comments while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural of JMI Group made face mask at a hotel in the capital on Monday.

"At one time exporting drugs was unimaginable for us, but today we have succeeded," the minister said. Medical logistics made in our country is going to different countries of the world.

Mentioning that Bangladesh has not made any wrong decision in controlling the corona, he said, "Covid-19 was a new challenge for us. The Prime Minister has made all the right decisions to address those challenges. We have not yet made any wrong decision on corona control. And that is why Covid-19 did not have much impact in Bangladesh".

Thanking JMI for unvailing KN-95 mask to the market in case of epidemic situation, the Minister said, "We have noticed that many countries are making such masks. Now our domestic companies have also brought it to the market".

Mentioning that Japan is a big partner in the development of Bangladesh, Asaduzzaman Khan said, "Our metro rail construction work is going on with the help of Japan." The Japanese government has always helped us. Now they have also come forward to extend their helping hand to us to tackle coronavirus pandemic. It is certainly admirable."

JMI Group founder and managing director Dr. Abdur Razzak presided over the ceremony where Prof. Iqbal Arslan, President of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad, spoke as a special guest.
