China wants to form an alliance with six countries, including Bangladesh, to keep coronavirus vaccines in the collection so that these states could use them in case of emergency.

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen came up with the comments while speaking to reporters on Thursday. He said Bangladesh has no objection to remain in this alliance without India. However, the alliance has not been finalized yet, talks are underway.

The Foreign Minister said that a total of six countries have agreed to form an alliance called 'South Asia Storage for Covid Facilitated Vaccines'. The task of this alliance will be to conserve the covid vaccine.

He said that besides Bangladesh and China, Afghanistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan are also shown interest to join this alliance. In the meantime, other countries including Bangladesh have agreed on this alliance.

Dr. AK Abdul Momen said, “If we lack covid vaccine then it will be available from storage facility. However, this facility will be used only in case of emergency."
