Bangladesh counts 6 more COVID deaths, 276 cases

Bangladesh today has reported six more deaths from Covid-19, bringing the tally of fatalities from the pandemic to 27,834.
The overall COVID caseload, on the other hand, stood at 15,68,257 as 276 more cases were detected in the preceding 24 hours.
It was said in a routine daily statement signed by Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday (October 26, 2021).
Meanwhile, 440 patients recovered from the viral disease in a span of 24 hours, bringing the total recovery patients to 15,32,180.
Chattogram and Dhaka divisions counted two fatalities while Dhaka has registered the highest number of infections with 208.
As many as 19,184 samples were tested across the country, yielding a virus positivity among 276 people with a detection rate of 1.44 percent.
The latest figure showed the recovery rate at 97.70 percent while the mortality rate at 1.77 percent.
Earlier, five Covid-19 deaths and 283 new cases were reported yesterday.
The highest single-day deaths 264 from Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (August 10).
Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
