Bangladesh again logs 101 COVID deaths in 24hrs

Bangladesh has again reported 101 coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths to 10,283.
Besides, 3,473 Covid-19 cases were confirmed during the period. With the latest, the total number of cases surged to 7,15,252.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed this in a press release on Saturday (April 17, 2021).
A total of 16,185 samples were tested at 227 authorized laboratories across the country during the time, the press release added. “The virus detection rate is 21 percent.”
In the past 24 hours, another 5,907 people were discharged from the hospital, raising the total number of cured patients to 6,08,815.
Earlier on Friday, 101 Covid-19 deaths were reported which was the highest single-day spike.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
