Two held with Phynsidyle in city

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) recovered 486 bottles of contraband Phynsidyle and arrested two people from the city's Tejgaon area on Thursday night.

Being tipped-off that a consignment of the contraband phynsidyle was being carried towards Dhaka from Rajshahi to distribute those in various areas of the city, a team of the elite force was waylaid on the New Airport Road near Falcon Tower in Shahinbagh around 10:30 pm.

Finally, they challenged the suspected truck when it was about to cross the elite force at 11:30 pm, said Assistant Director (Media) of the Rab-2 ASP Md Saiful Malik.

Searching the truck, the elite force members recovered the illegal drug consignment from inside sacks containing corns, he said adding that two people-Ataur Rahman, 21, and Md Palash, 21, were arrested in this connection.

During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees revealed that they used to collect Phynsidyle from Chapainababgonj frontier and bring those to Dhaka, he said.
