Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Monday said the friendly relations between Bangladesh and India are multidimensional.
“Good relations and mutual understanding with neighboring countries facilitate economic development for both countries,” he said during a farewell meeting with outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das at the Secretariat in the capital.
Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said Riva Ganguly Das has performed diplomatic duties in Bangladesh on behalf of the Indian government with utmost efficiency and sincerity.
He added that the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi are very generous and looking forward to increasing the government and people-to-people contact between the two countries.
A number of projects are being implemented under the Indian Loan Program for the development of road communication infrastructure in the country, said the Road Transport and Bridges Minister.
Riva Ganguly Das, India’s outgoing High Commissioner to Bangladesh, said in her meeting that the existing friendly political relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the future. “I will miss Bangladesh a lot,” she also said.
