Bangladesh-Bhutan to sign bilateral PTA in Aug

Bangladesh will sign a Bilateral Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) with Bhutan next August to boost Inter sub-Continental trade and commerce.
The PTA signing will be in force by August 30 after vetting by the law ministry and cabinet approval. The commerce ministers of the two countries will sign the preferential trade agreement on behalf of the respective countries.
A video conference was held at the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday with the aim of concluding the second priority bilateral trade agreement between Bangladesh and Bhutan.
In the online conference, Additional Secretary (FTA) of the Ministry of Commerce Mrs. Sharifa Khan led the 10-member delegation from Bangladesh. On behalf of Bhutan, the 14-member delegation was led by Sonam Tenzin, Director General of the Department of Trade of the country.
