The movement of all types of naval vessels including ferries on the Banglabazar-Shimulia route was resumed as the dense fog was subsided. At the same time, the ferry anchored in the middle of the Padma River has reached the ghat.

“The movement of naval vessels on this route became normal around 9:30 am on Tuesday,” Bhojan Saha, assistant manager of BIWTC’s Banglabazar Ghat, confirmed the information.

Earlier, the Banglabazar-Shimulia route was halted from 5:00 am on Tuesday to avoid accidents.

Bhojan Saha, assistant manager of BIWTC's Banglabazar Ghat, said the ferry’s marking light became blurred due to dense fog in the river in the morning, as a result, all ferry services on the route have been suspended from 5:00 am to avoid accidents. Even some ferries were anchored in the middle of the Padma River at that time, he added.
