Bangla Academy awards five publications

The Bangla Academy has awarded five publications for various reasons including publication of books, decorating etc. Of them, the ‘Panjeri Publication’ alone got two Memorial Award named after the two greats. The four other award-winning publication houses are ‘Katha Prakash’, ‘Prothama’, ‘Journeyman Books’ and ‘Chandrabati Academy’.

In the written press release, Director General of the Academy Habibullah Siraji announced the nominated memorial award of four people.  

In terms of quality for publishing most books from the children’s books published, ‘Rokonuzzaman Khan Dadabhai Smriti Award 2019’ and ‘Panjeri Publications’ received the ‘Shilpi Qayum Chowdhury Memorial Award 2019’ as the best pavilion for Stall Decoration. 

Apart from Panjeri as the best organization in the decoration, ‘Madhyama Prokashoni’ of one unit and ‘Batighor Prokashoni’ of various units also got Shilpi Qayum Chowdhury Memorial Award.    

In terms of quality and published the highest number of books, Kotha Prakash has got the ‘Chittaranjan Saha Memorial Award 2019’. In quality and artistic judgment, Prothoma Prokashon got ‘Munir Chowdhury Memorial Award’ for publishing the best book of Golam Murshid’s ‘Bidrohi Ronoklanto: Nazrul-Jiboni’. Journeyman Books also got the award for Moinuddin Khaled’s ‘Monorothe Shilper Pothe’ and Chandraboti Academy for the Marful Islam’s ‘Muthor Vitor Rod’.    

Regarding the award, Habibullah Siraji said, “On February 28, these awards will be given to awardees at the closing ceremony of Amar Ekushey Book Fair.”
