Bad light forces early stumps with Bangladesh in command

Bangladesh are playing their first Test of the two-match series against host Sri Lanka at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele. The Tigers are on the way to a big total by disappointing the Sri Lankan bowlers. The game of the second day ended before the scheduled time due to bad light. However, Mominul Haque's team is still well ahead in the match.
At the stumps of the second day's play, Bangladesh scored 474 runs for 4 wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das on batting scoring 43 and 25 respectively.
Bangladesh were 440/4 at tea break. The game was stopped due to rain after Bangladesh added 9 runs to the scoreboard. However, the play resumed after 10 minutes. The umpires were forced to stop the play again due to bad light even though the match was going on at its own pace. Later, the situation did not improve and umpires are forced to call early stumps of the day's play.
Earlier, the visitors started their day-2 batting with the overnight score 302 for 2. Nazmul Hossain Shanto (126) and Mominul (64) were in the batting. Two overnight batsmen start day-2 batting slowly.
Mominul Haque finally ended his century drought in an overseas country with a stylish ton in this Test.
The first overseas century in his career came in his 43rd match and at a moment when he was under severe pressure following Bangladesh’s only one victory in six matches under his captaincy.
Mominul had done it in style. As Dananjaya de Silva gave some width, Mominul confidently cut it wide of the backward point fielder for his 11th four, which brought up his 11th century and first overseas ton off 224 balls. This was moreover his third century against Sri Lanka in the last five innings.
Soon after Mominul Haque touched his 11the Test hundred Najmul Hossain Shanto became only the second batter from the team to cross 150 in his maiden Test century. The pair also added 242 runs for the third-wicket stand before Shanto (163 off 378) c & b by Kumara.
Mominul and Mushfiqur added 30 runs in the 4th wickets stand before Mominul dismissed by DM de Silva.
After losing skipper Mominul, Musfiqur Rahim, and Liton Das finished the day remained unbeaten. The two so far added 50 runs in the 5th wickets stand.
MVT Fernando took 2 wickets while DM de Silva and Lahiru Kumara bagged one wicket each.
