Although all the public universities of the country are going hold a combined admission test from now, the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is not participating in it.

The decision was made at a meeting of the Academic Council of BUET on Wednesday afternoon. Professor Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter on Thursday afternoon.

He said that going to the Central Admission Test is not an issue here. We have kept our previous rules and this is how admission will be conducted.

Meanwhile, Dhaka University Academic Council has convened an emergency meeting in this regard.

Earlier, on February 12, the University Grants Commission (UGC) decided at a meeting to take admission test centrally in all public universities of the country. Although the Vice-Chancellors of Dhaka University, BUET, Jahangirnagar University, and Chittagong University were present at the meeting but did not give their conclusions about the combined admission test.
