Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has been continuing its emergency service to ensure the delivery of quality products to consumers in the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in the country.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, the BSTI said the organization has continued its emergency services, especially considering the fact that the low-quality goods cannot be imported from abroad and that the importers do not suffer any kind of harassment.

The 55 compulsory importing products including powdered milk, baby foods are being tested in the BSTI laboratory and marketed in the domestic market after giving clearance, the press release also said, mentioning that “one-stop service centers and laboratories in various port areas including BSTI’s head office has been running.”

In addition, BSTI is working to ensure that the public can purchase or use quality products for Iftar and Sehri in the coming Holy Ramadan. More than 400 food items, especially used in Iftar and Sahri, are collected and tested in the BSTI laboratory, said the BSTI.
