Awami League joint general secretary and information minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said BNP's politics is stuck in Khaleda Zia's illness.

He said this while addressing a meeting fifth anniversary of Dhaka Journalist Association (DJA) at Jatiya Press Club in the capital.

Hasan Mahmood said Khaleda Zia's illness seems to be the only purpose of BNP politics. So many people across the country do not care about her illness. Their gaze is just the release of Khaleda Zia. After hearing about the release of Khaleda Zia, at one point the leaders heard that they really wanted to do politics by capitalizing on her illness by holding Khaleda Zia imprisonment.

"I will not say that the government is doing 100 percent good," he said. Something can go wrong. And they should criticize as an opposition party. Criticism will help to run the country more effectively. By doing so, their politics are only stuck in Khaleda's illness. I pray to God that their politics be released from Zia's illness.

Criticizing the comment of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on BNP chief Begum Khaleda Zia’s parole and health issues, the minister said they don’t know what they want and they have different opinions on Begum Zia’s health issue.

Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) secretary-general Shaban Mahmud, DJA general secretary Abdul Mazid and women affairs secretary Jasmin Jui, among others, addressed the meeting with its president Jahirul Haque Milu in the chair.
