Awami League (AL) claimed that BNP-Jamaat is planning a series of attacks on Awami League activists to foil the election after knowing their sure defeat.

Joint secretary general Abdur Rahman claimed this at an emergency press conference on Saturday night at capital's Awami League’s political office.

He said, “On the night before the election, Jamaat and BNP have taken the path of violence to destroy the election environment in a planned way, and BNP-Jamaat’s terrorist forces are attacking Awami League activists.”

“At the same time, Tarique Rahman who is in London and accused in a corruption case is spreading false information and rumor through social media. Besides creating fear and panic across the country, they have been trying to occupy polling centers in different areas of the country.”

Claiming that an attempt was made to create anarchy in the country by killing two Awami League activists, the Awami League leader said, “The Awami League’s Saiful Islam of Sunamganj’s Dharmapasha and the Jubo League leader of Chattogram, were brutally killed by BNP-Jamaat terrorists. Through this, they have implemented the blueprint for anarchy.”

Claiming that the BNP-Jamaat is trying to occupy the polling centers, Abdur Rahman said, “As part of the pre-plan of Kamal Hossain and Mirza Fakhrul, armed gangs of BNP-Jamaat have been implementing conspiracies to seize polling centers at different places.”

“They carried out an attack on the presiding officer of Noakhali-2 constituency’s ebtedayee madrasah center and took control of the voting center and six Awami League activists were injured in the attack.”

He also said, “Five Awami League leaders are injured in an attack led by Juba Dal of Baghaichari Amtali Union of Rangamati district. The fire has been set in various places in Chattogram.”

“At the same time, they are trying to destroy the election environment by buying votes in different places with the money of ISIS.”

The Awami League leader said, “In an audio message, Colonel Oli Ahmed said to take possession of a polling center with weapons. Jamaat’s terrorists gave a public threat at Amtoli’s Haldia Union Parishad of Barguna to blow up the polling booth.”

Claiming that BNP is continuously lying on the election, Rahman said that BNP leaders at Naya Paltan and Gulshan were trying to make the nation fool the nation after a series of shameless lies and fiction. “We urge all the people of the country to be very careful and patiently face the situation.”

“Knowing their defeat, BNP-Jamaat terrorists are involved in a number of conspiracies to question the elections to destroy the country's democracy.”

Rahman said that BNP-Jamaat chose the path of violence after seeing the public support of Boat. “It is not possible to stop the Awami League’s convincing victory by creating violence.”

Calling upon the people at the press conference, Abdur Rahman said, “On the eve of the election, we call upon the people to create resistance against such terrorists and subversive activities.”

Awami League Joint Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, BM Mozammel Hossain, and Deputy Office Secretary Biplob Barua were also present at the press conference.
