Dinajpur BNP has divided into half a dozen groups as there is no committee and no organizational activities for a long time. Meanwhile, even in the coronavirus situation, there is no response from the leaders and workers of the party.

Talking to local leaders, it was learned that the district BNP leaders and activists played a very vocal role during the election but after polls, the top leaders disappeared. Even they don't look after party workers. The number of benefited BNP leaders in the district is increasing day by day. The number of leaders standing by the people is decreasing. As a result, the party leaders are not by the side of the indigent workers in the coronavirus situation.

Four years ago, the district committee was formed with BNP candidate AZM Rezwanul Haque as convener of Dinajpur-5 (Parbatipur Phulbari) constituency. Although the committee was made for three months tenure, it has been going on for four years with various excuses. Even then the leaders cannot be found.

District BNP convener AJM Rezwanul Haque served as the convener for two years and appointed former MP Rejina Islam as the acting convener citing his illness. Now Rejina Islam is serving as acting convener of the district BNP.

A cold war is still raging between the two candidates over getting party's nomination in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election from Dinajpur Sadar.

Dinajpur district BNP acting convener Rejina Islam said there are about 22 units under the district BNP. The council did not meet the exact time of these 22 units for various reasons. Therefore, the full committee of the district BNP could not be formed.

She added that there will be competition for leadership in the team. District BNP committee will be formed in a short time.
