BNP leader Nipun Roy put on remand

A court in Dhaka placed two people including BNP's central executive committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury on a three-day remand in police custody for interrogation in a case of setting fire to a bus and plotting sabotage.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid passed the order on Monday afternoon.
The other accused, who was also placed on remand, is - Haji Arman Hossain, vice-president of Jubo Dal's Keraniganj thana unit.
Earlier, police produced them before the court seeking a seven-day remand in a case with Hazaribagh police station.
The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Nipun On Sunday afternoon from her Rayerbazar residence in the capital in connection with the arson attack on a bus at Janpath Mor and Malibagh in the capital.
Sub-Inspector Joyanto Kumar Dey of Rab-2 filed a case against BNP leader Nipun Roy Chowdhury and her party men under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
