Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud alleged that BNP has started politics with coronavirus.

“BNP should have stood by the people rather than doing politics with coronavirus. This is a global disaster, not only in Bangladesh,” he said during a briefing on contemporary political issues at the meeting room of Information Ministry at Secretariat on Tuesday.

He said aviation around the world has shrunk. Even Donald Trump is not leaving the White House. This is how global leaders are curtailing their programs. “In this global disaster, those who do politics for the people should stand by the people. But BNP has started politics over it.”

The statement that BNP secretary Mirza Fakhrul made yesterday about the coronavirus is like mocking with the people, said the minister.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud said they (BNP) are always worried about Khaleda Zia’s health. Urging the BNP,  he said: “If you do politics for the people, please do not do politics with coronavirus.”

“We need to work on this disaster unitedly,” he said.

The minister said the country has taken various programs to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation. “But the Prime Minister has narrowed down and reorganized the programs thinking the public interest. No programs were canceled.”

These programs have been reorganized in the context of the current world and after the coronavirus patients have been identified in Bangladesh, Dr. Hasan Mahmud also said.
