General Secretary of the ruling party Awami League and also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader Obaidul Quader has said that the BNP is continuing the unannounced war because the court did not grant bail to Khaleda Zia. The BNP’s protests are not against any political leader or party. This is an unwarranted program against the court.

He was speaking at the Awami League political office in Dhanmondi on Saturday morning.

Obaidul Quader also said that the corrupt criminals of the country are under surveillance. All those who are behind these will also be caught. Intermittent operations are being conducted against the culprits. Apart from this, those who are shaking their hands will not be exempted.

Responding to a question of the reporters regarding the rise in the price of electricity and water, Obaidul Quader said some prices have been raised to ensure water and electricity supply. Because the government is subsidizing the same on the water like subsidy on electricity. “We want to ensure 100% power coverage during the Mujib Year. I want to light up every room. Hot season summer is coming, we want to keep the power system uninterrupted so that people don't get trouble. People will get benefit from it even if it is a little tough.

Obaidul Quader also said that about a thousand Chinese people work in Padma Bridge. From here, 150 of them went on holiday. If there is no improvement in the coronavirus situation within two months, then there will be a slight disruption to the work of Padma Bridge.

He said Padma Bridge’s work would not be stopped. The 25th span was set in a few days ago. Another span is scheduled to be set up next week. If they cannot come on leave, then there will be little trouble in works.

The press conference was attended by Awami League's science and technology Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur and deputy office secretary Sayeem Khan.
