Bangladesh Cricket Board are planning to send injured pacer Hasan Mahmud for a biomechanical assessment to either UAE or South Africa. Mahmud is struggling with a back injury and the board is struggling to understand the nature of his issues.

Hasan, who made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe and then his ODI debut against West Indies, picked up the injury during the tour of New Zealand. And while he's been going through a rehabilitation program, there hasn't been any satisfactory improvement. As a result, the pacer has been out of action for more than five months.

"He has been under our observation for a long time and we have examined him in many ways on different occasions but we couldn't find any problem as we are finding nothing in the scans," BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury said.

"We think he needs to have a 3D biomechanical assessment as that will help us to know whether there is some problem with his bowling action or not. The biomechanical assessment is not available in the country so we are trying to send him abroad."

Hasan told Cricbuzz that there is no pain in normal time but once he bowls three to four overs that the pain resurfaces in his back. "There is no pain all day but once I bowl three to four overs it resurfaces. I am not sure what my problem is as nothing is found in the scan report," said Hasan. "I am really getting frustrated as it's quite hard to sit at home watching when I am supposed to play."
