The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has banned Shakib Al Hasan for four matches for his non-playing behavior and misconduct with the umpire in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).
Mohammedan Sporting Club faced arch-rivals Abahani in a high-voltage match at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital on Friday. In this match, Mohammedan captain Shakib Al Hasan became the highlight for several discussed incidents.
Shakib first kicked the stamp as he did not like the umpire’s “wrong” decision in the match. Later, when the umpire announced to halt the game, he got angry and threw all the three stamps on the ground. Lastly, he was also seen exchanging heated words with Khaled Mahmud Sujan in front of the Abahani dugout.
After all these incidents, it was understood that Shakib was going to face severe punishment. That fear, in the end, turned into the truth.
