Bangladesh Bank official, 2 daughters killed in road crash

A Bangladesh Bank (BB) official and his two daughters were killed as a lorry hit a private car at Faujdarhat Bypass area in Sitakunda Upazila of Chattogram on Saturday morning. 

The deceased were identified as Bangladesh Bank joint director Saifuzzaman Montu and his two daughters - Tasfia and Tasreen. Saifuzzaman's wife Konika Akhter and their son Monti were injured in the incident.  

Inspector Zahirul Islam, in-charge of Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost, said a private car carrying the five members of the same family were going to Dhaka from Bandarban. When the private car reached the Faujdarhat bypass area in Sitakunda, a lorry hit the vehicle, leaving Saifuzzaman's two daughters dead on the spot. 

Saifuzzaman, his wife Konika and their son Monti were critically injured in the incident. Later, the injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where the doctor declared Saifuzzaman dead. Konika and Monti have been undergoing treatment at the hospital.
