Auto-rickshaw and Minibus collision kills two in Habiganj

Two people have been killed in a collision between a CNG run autorickshaw and a minibus at Baniachang in Habiganj. Three more people were injured in the incident. They were rescued in critical condition and sent to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital and later to Sylhet Osmani Medical College.
The accident took place at around 2pm on Friday on the Habiganj-Baniachang road in Kalarduba area.
The deceased were identified as Sudeb Das, son of Shishimon Das of Bhatipara village in Baniachang upazila and Piyush Pal, son of Bimal Pal of Kalyanpur village in Bahubal upazila.
Baniachang Police Station OC Emran Hossain said a CNG autorickshaw with five passengers left Baniachang for Habiganj at noon. The autorickshaw collided with a minibus coming from the opposite direction when it reached the Kalarduba area on the way. An auto passenger was killed on the spot. Four others in the car were injured. When the locals rescued the injured and took them to Habiganj Sadar Modern Hospital, the doctor declared another dead.
The OC further said that after receiving the news of the incident, the police reached the spot and rescued the two vehicles involved in the accident and brought them to the police station. Besides, the bodies of two people have been kept in Habiganj morgue.
