Australia have set England a modest target of 295 runs, the tourists finish at 294/9 after 50 overs, to win the first one-day international between the sides at Emirates Old Trafford today.
After winning the toss England elected to bowl first that was being turned into a good decision as the English managed to take 5 wickets just for 123 runs.
However, after being 123/5 at one stage Australia will be really pleased with the score they have managed to finish with.
The two experienced middle-order batsmen, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh managed to cross 290, scoring 77 of 59 balls and 73 runs of 100 balls respectively. The partnership came to an end at 126-run stand as Jofra Archer picked up the wicket of Glenn Maxwell.
England conceded just 21 runs of the last three overs, they will be really pleased with their death bowling. Mark Wood and Jofra Archer picked up 3 wickets each while spinner Adil Rashid finished a couple of wickets to his name and Chris Woakes finished with a wicket in his last over.
A target of 295 is not considered difficult to chase in modern cricket, however, England have an illustrious batting lineup.
