Australia take on South Africa in the first game of the Super 12 stage of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 at Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

After winning the toss Australia skipper Aaron Finch chose to bowl first and restrict South Africa for 118/9 in 20 overs. Aiden Markram (40 off 36) was the best batter for South Africa. Rabada's handy 20, which included a six and four, ensured the Proteas bat out the 20 overs.

Australia took control of the game against South Africa early on and ensured it didn't slip away, the Proteas was 59/4 at the halfway stage.

South Africa started brightly before Glenn Maxwell and Josh Hazlewood struck, scalping three Proteas wickets in the next four overs.

South Africa did manage to rebuild briefly with a 23-run partnership between Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen. However, Pat Cummins came back into the attack and struck immediately, catching the leading edge of Klaasen's bat as Steve Smith completed a good catch diving forward.

David Millar and Markram post 34 runs for the fifth wickets stand before Zampa sent Millar for 16.

Aiden Markram fought alone for South Africa before went out for 40 off 36 as the number eight batter to Strac.
