Australia, New Zealand, England will visit Bangladesh
Bangladesh will start preparations for the T20 World Cup with a T20 series against Australia in July. After that, New Zealand and England will visit Bangladesh in phases, said BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Akram Khan.
India will host the T20 World Cup in October-November this year. The BCCI has already finalized the venue of the World Cup. Despite concerns over the global COVID situation, host India is working to organize the tournament as scheduled.
The BCB had planned to organize several series to prepare the cricketers before the mega event. Teams like England, Australia and New Zealand are expected to visit Bangladesh.
Bangladesh will travel to Zimbabwe in June to play two Tests and three ODIs and T20s. After that, the busyness for the team will start when they will back in the country. According to the previous schedule, New Zealand was supposed to be the first team to come to Bangladesh before the World Cup and in Australia in October. However, some changes have been made to that plan.
“New Zealand will visit, England will visit also. Australia will visit at the end of July. They are actually scheduled to play a minimum of 3 and a maximum of five T20 games,” said Akram Khan.
As the tour of Australia and England may take place soon, it was also heard that a tri-nation T20 series will be organized with Bangladesh with these two countries. However, the board has deviated from that plan. Bangladesh and England will play a series of three ODIs and T20 matches in September.
