AstraZeneca’s 10 lakh vaccines arriving tonight

10 lakh of Covishield vaccines of Oxford-AstraZeneca manufactured by Serum Institute of India are arriving in Dhaka today, confirmed the Indian High Commission in Dhaka sources.
It is learned that the 10 lakh vaccines will arrive in Dhaka around 6 pm on Saturday.
A total of 1.03 crore Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines have been received from India. Of these, 33 lakh were gifted from India and 70 lakh vaccines were purchased.
On January 25 this year, the first consignment of 50 lakh vaccines purchased from India arrived. Then the second consignment of vaccines bought from India in the second phase arrived on February 23. In all, a total of 70 lakh vaccines shipments were reached from India.
Meanwhile, India gifted 33 lakh vaccines to Bangladesh in three phases. In the first phase, on January 21 this year, India gifted 20 lakh vaccines of Oxford-AstraZeneca to Bangladesh.
In the second phase, on March 26, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Dhaka and gifted another 12 lakh vaccines. In the third phase, Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane visited Dhaka on April 8 and gifted one lakh vaccines to Bangladesh
