Today (Sunday, August 1) is the birthday of Aruna Biswas, the most famous actress in Bengali movies in the 80s.  

Aruna Biswas was born on August 8, 1967, at Jabra village of Ghior Thana in Manikganj.

Aruna Biswas, a worthy successor of two outstanding artists couple — Amalendu Biswas and Jyotsna Biswas — awardees of prestigious Ekushey Padak.

Aruna Biswas passed the SSC in 1983 from Bharateshwari Homes in Tangail and was admitted to Eden College. She passed HSC from this college in 1985 and graduated in 1987.

Aruna Biswas first appeared in a play ‘Ek Betar’ directed by Abdullah Al Mamun. Then she played the play ‘Ekhanei Jibon’ written by Naresh Bhuiyan. She caught the attention of the audience by acting in the film ‘Chapadangar Bou’.

Aruna Biswas, a talented actress who has acted as the heroine of hundreds of films. She is currently a member of the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. 

The short dramas made by Aruna Biswas have been widely appraised in civil society.

After 6 years staying in Canada, Biswas returned to Bangladesh and directed her first TV serial ‘Onnorokomer Lojja’ for Channel I. Then she completed ‘Dolonchampa’ by Kazi Nazrul Islam, ‘Boner Papiya’ and ‘Dristhtidaan’ by Rabindranath Tagore, ‘Shure Eka Chobi’ and ‘Boro Didi by’ Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. – Wikipedia.
