Arrest warrant against 327 BNP men in Lalmonirhat

A court has issued arrest warrant against 327 BNP activists of BNP in the case of injured police officials at Victory Day rally in Lalmonirhat on Thursday noon.

Five people, including the then ASP Sushant Sarkar, were injured by hitting from bricks during the chase and counter-chase of Awami League-BNP in the Victory Day rally on December 16, 2017.

Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Alamgir Hossain filed a case against unknown people in the incident the next day.

Sub-inspector (SI) of the Sadar Police Station Mainul Haque submitted a charge sheet against 419 people on Thursday after a year of investigation.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mehedi Hasan Mandal issued warrant for the arrest of 327 accused after reviewing the charge sheet.

Lalmonirhat Court OC Jahangir Alam said, “The court has issued arrest warrants against 327 accused. The court’s order will be sent to the concerned police stations today.”

Lalmonirhat district BNP general secretary Hafizur Rahman Babla told Daily Bangladesh that at first, the police filed against 28 leaders in false cases. Now, the arrest warrant has been issued to harass BNP leader.
