Army ready to tackle flood: Army Chief

Air and Navy forces including the army are ready to tackle the flood situation in the country, said Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed.

The army chief told reporters after the DC meeting with the three army chiefs at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) conference in the Secretariat.

In the meeting, it was informed that the Army, Air, and Navy are ready to help the flood situation if deteriorate, said  Bangladesh Army chief General Aziz Ahmed. “Besides, how to make a better understanding between us was discussed in the meeting.” 

During this, the Army Chief said if anything like this happens- Army, Navy, Air Force- are ready for all kind of cooperation at any time. “We will cooperate, as the DCs will want.”

Mentioning that Armed Forces will work together with the administration, General Aziz Ahmed said, “We told the DC that we will work for the country together with them. If there is any problem, I will solve it with mutual understanding.” 

Chief of Naval Staff and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Chief of Air Staff currently outside the country) were present in the meeting. This was the first time that three top leaders of the armed forces were present in the DC conference.
