Army gained people’s trust in elections: Chief of Army Staff

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed said that in the 11th parliamentary elections, voters cast their vote in a peaceful environment with the help of the army. During the election, the army achieved people’s trust by working relentlessly to maintain peace and order.

The Chief of Army Staff said this in the opening ceremony of the construction work of three educational institutions under Jolshiri Housing Project adjacent to Purbachal suburb of Rupganj in Narayanganj on Thursday morning. The institutions are - Adamjee Public School and College, Jolshiri Public School and College and Bangladesh International School and College.

The Chief of Army Staff said, “The initial phase of the construction work of these educational institutions will be completed within 2019. From January 2020, there are plans to start educational programs in those educational institutions.” 

He also said. “According to the rules, children of the military personnel will have the opportunity to study in these educational institutions. Besides, the local civilians who have assisted in the implementation of Jolshiri Housing Project, their children will also get the opportunity to study.”

“There is also a plan to set up an ultramodern hospital and a university. If these constructions are built, then the situation of the socio-economic condition of the area will improve,” added Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed.

High-level officers, local people and teachers and students of different schools and colleges of Dhaka Cantonment were present in the program.
