After receiving information, a patrol team from Lakkhichhari army zone of the Guimara army arrested two UPDF activists Sumant Chakma (20) and Dipankar Chakma (22) from Rainnamachhra upazila. The other two terrorists escaped sensing the force. They recovered, a sophisticated carbine including 53 rounds of fresh bullets, 1 potty, 1 ceiling, 1 cutlass, 2 illegal money receipt and multiple mobile phones from the spot.
The detainees claimed that they were activists of the ‘Prosita’ Group of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) against the Chittagong Hill Tracts Peace Agreement. Legal action is being taken on it.
